Ride horseback across the high, rugged tablelands between Cusco and Arequipa. We’ll see mountains, canyons, caverns, hot springs, and get to know the country folk, native animals and ecology of the high plateau. We ride up the geologically disturbed Apurimac River and down the Colca Canyon where we will look for condors. Note: this tour can go to Arequipa or to Cusco at the end. Use it as a pleasant way to travel from Cusco to Arequipa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ITINERARY<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Note: this tour can go to Arequipa or to Cusco at the end. Use it as a pleasant way to travel from Cusco to Arequipa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DAY 1 CUSCO – ESPINAR<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

At 8 am, we\u2019ll take our clients from their hotels, then we\u2019ll go south of Cusco to Espinar (Yauri), there, we\u2019ll have lunch, after it, our guides will introduce us with the team that will be all the tour with us(cook, horseman, etc),  then we\u2019ll go by horseback to the Hacienda Puente Central, arriving at 5pm more or less, accommodations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DAY 2 ESPINAR – SUYKUTAMBO<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

After breakfast, we\u2019ll prepare our  horses for our journey, we\u2019ll begin to ride following the Apurimac River upstream passing the inpresive 3 canyons of Suykutambo where 3 rivers are converging and forming the Apurimac River, campsite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DAY 3 SUYKUTAMBO – APACHETA<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

After breakfast, we\u2019ll pack all the campsite and then we\u2019ll continue by our horses upper the Apurimac Canyon until the Apacheta(4,600 masl), then we\u2019ll go down to an small canyon to sleep there in a warm campsite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DAY 4 APACHETA – ICHUNHUAYCO<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This day we\u2019ll continue crossing the highlands, during the trail, we\u2019ll see lots of Alpacas and local People taking care of them, in the afternoon we\u2019ll arrive to the hot springs of Ichunhuayco 3,995 mass, (campsite there)\u2026, after a nice bath in the hot springs, we\u2019ll eat lunch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DAY 5 ICHUNHUAYCO – MISMI<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This day we\u2019ll climb up until 4,800 masl to the Mismi snowcup, there we\u2019ll see the begin of the Amazonas river, after lunch, we\u2019ll go down to our next campsite at 3,700 masl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DAY 6 MISMI –  TUTI<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This last day in our horses, we\u2019ll go to Tuti(small town in the Colca Canyon), there our car will be waiting for us, to take us by car to Chivay, once in Chivay, accommodations in a hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DAY 7 TUTI \u2013 CONDOR CROSS<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Early in the morning, we\u2019ll go by our car to Condor Cross, in order to see the deepest canyon in the World with Condors flying around(really impressive)\u2026, after lunch, we\u2019ll go to Arequipa, end of our services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
