In the South of Bolivia, we find one of the marvels of nature, its formation took place after the drying of an immense lake that existed some millions of years ago in the high plateau, the unique salt plains, of more than 10.000 square kilometres, were nominated as the “Number One Marvel” by various international magazines. This region is the perfect place to enjoy beautiful evenings and surreal landscapes.
07:00am transfer from your hotel to the airport, one hour flight arrival to Uyuni at 09:30, then on board of our four wheel drive, we begin our journey visiting the train cemetery where you can see the remains of nineteenth and early 20th century steam locomotives, then we continue visiting Colchani, main plant for the iodization of salt, and we will observe the way how the locals work using precarious ovens to dry the salt for human consumption, lunch in the little town of Coquesa, later on we will arrive to the Inka Huasi Island a highlight due the presence of giant cactus and the Andean rodent Viscacha. This place offers beautiful scenery and plenty of photo opportunities. We will enjoy our lunch and have some time to enjoy the peaceful area and surroundings, In the afternoon transfer to the selected Hotel / Hostel accommodation.

On board of our vehicle we continue south visiting colorful Andean lakes (Canapa Hedionda, Ramaditas) where is possible to observe the pink flamingos and if we are lucky other wild fauna such as the Andean fox, or the vicuñas and different type of birds that live in the area. In the afternoon we will continue towards south and find the Siloli desert known for the weird rock formations such us the “arbol de piedra” or rock tree.
Later on transfer to the selected hotel /hostel accommodation.

We shall depart early in order to continue our journey visiting the volcanic zone of Geysers, “Sol de Mañana” where the landscape turns us back to the age when the earth was formed due the presence of volcanic activity with bubbling mud pods, fumaroles and the thick aroma of sulphur. Then we continue our visit to Laguna Verde where the colour is a consequence of the high concentration of lead and calcium carbonate, then we will arrive to the thermals a good opportunity to take a soak in the hot springs. At this point we restart our way back north to Uyuni. On the way we will observe the rock formations know as the valley of the rocks. Transfer to the selected hotel/hostel accommodation.
