This is an excellent itinerary for travelers who want to go from Chile to Bolivia, knowing San Pedro de Atacama and the Salar de Uyuni, we opted for a basic service, precise for travelers who have a low budget, and want to travel from San Pedro de Atacama to Uyuni , the tour takes place in shared service, with basic hotels with double rooms and private bathroom.

ITINERARY

Day 1: From San Pedro de Atacama / Tayka del Desierto


We begin our journey at 6:00 AM with a transfer from your hotel to Hito Cajón, the Bolivian border. After immigration formalities, we’ll transfer to a 4×4 vehicle to explore the jewels of the Altiplano: the Blanca and Verde Lagoons, guarded by volcanoes. We’ll enjoy a relaxing soak in the Polques Hot Springs (approximately $35 USD) and explore the iconic Laguna Colorada, a flamingo sanctuary. We’ll end the day visiting the Sol de Mañana geysers and the mystical Stone Tree, before relaxing at the Tayka del Desierto Hotel.

Day 2: Tayka del Desierto / Altiplano Lagoons / Palacio de Sal Hotel


After breakfast (8:30 AM), we’ll explore the Cañapa, Hedionda, and Chiarkota Lagoons, natural settings where flamingos abound. We will stop at the Ollagüe Volcano viewpoint for lunch overlooking its semi-active crater. In the afternoon, we will explore the rock formations of the Valley of Rocks and visit the picturesque town of San Cristóbal and its colonial church. The day concludes around 6:30 PM at the exclusive Palacio de Sal Hotel.

Day 3: Uyuni Salt Flats and Sunset


We begin at 10:00 AM visiting Colchani to learn about the traditional salt processing. We will then venture into the 12,000 km² Uyuni Salt Flats, visiting the salt mounds, the Playa Blanca Hotel-Museum, and the Dakar Monument. We will have lunch and explore Incahuasi Island with its giant cacti (subject to season). In the afternoon, we will have a photo session to capture stunning views and enjoy an unforgettable sunset over the salt flats, arriving in Uyuni at 7:00 PM.

  • Pick up from your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama, transfer by minibus to the border.
  • Transportation in a Toyota Land Cruiser 4×4 (for 6 passengers for Uyuni part)
