Bolivia may be one of the poorest countries in South America but its cultural wealth, the mind-blowing Andean landscapes, and the remnants of mysterious ancient civilizations make it the richest and most exciting destination for adventurous and independent travellers.
ITINERARY
We will begin by picking you up from your hotel at 8:30 a.m. and heading towards the Cordillera Real mountain range, home to the impressive Chacaltaya Mountain. Along the way, we may see llamas and alpacas grazing in the Andes.
We will arrive at the former highest ski resort in the world, now a spectacular natural viewpoint at over 5,100 meters above sea level. From the refuge, you can enjoy a hot drink and, for the more adventurous, climb the last 200 meters to appreciate an unparalleled view.
Afterward, we will return to La Paz to visit the enigmatic Valley of the Moon in Mallasa, where erosion has formed unique rocky landscapes that seem otherworldly.
