South of Bolivia, we find out one of the marvels created by the nature, its formation took place after the drying of an immense lake that existed some million years ago in the high plateau, the unique salt plains, with more than 10.000 square kilometres, was nominated as the “Marvel number 1” by international magazines.
ITINERARY
DAY 1: LA PAZ – UYUNI
Transfer from your hotel(down town of La Paz) to the bus station.
Bus night Uyuni/ La Paz (10-11 hour trip).
DAY 2: UYUNI – UYUNI SALT FLATS – COLCHA K
Arrive to the bus station in Uyuni and transfer to our office
We begin our adventure at 10:30 AM from our agency. Our first stop will be the nostalgic Train Cemetery, followed by the town of Colchani, where you’ll learn about the salt extraction process firsthand.
Once inside the majestic salt flats, we’ll have lunch at the famous Playa Blanca Salt Museum, surrounded by flags from all over the world. We’ll explore Incahuasi Island with its ancient cacti and, of course, have a photo session taking advantage of the salt flats’ unique perspective. Weather permitting, we’ll end the day with an unforgettable sunset.

DAY 3: COLCHA K – VOLCANOES, COLORFUL LAGOONS – HUAYLLAJARA
Our adventure begins early, at 7:30 AM, departing from the Cruz Andina Salt Hotel. The route will take us across the Chiguana Salt Flats and offer us privileged views of the Ollagüe Volcano.
As we travel south, we’ll stop at the jewels of the Altiplano: the Cañapa, Hedionda, and Chiarkota lagoons. In this unique natural setting, we’ll enjoy lunch while observing the elegance of the flamingos up close. We’ll cross the Siloli Desert to encounter the Stone Tree, before arriving at one of the most anticipated spots: Laguna Colorada, famous for its vibrant reddish hues and biodiversity.
Finally, we’ll head to the town of Huayllajara to rest at the Hostal San Bernardo.
DAY 4: HUAYLLAJARA – GEYSERS, HOT SPRINGS – RETURN TO UYUNI / LA PAZ
Our final day begins at 5:00 a.m. to enjoy the sunrise at the Sol de Mañana Geysers. After this visit, we’ll go to the Polques Hot Springs, where you can soak in the healing waters at 37°C. We’ll continue crossing the Dalí Desert until we reach the impressive Laguna Verde.
We’ll return and have lunch in Villa Mar, then visit the rock formations of the Valley of Rocks, ending with a stop at the historic colonial church of San Cristóbal. We’ll be back in Uyuni at approximately 5:30 PM.

Day 5: UYUNI – LA PAZ

We recommend to bring:
- Clothing: Comfortable, warm clothing. For expeditions between January and April, waterproof or rain gear is essential.

- Sun Protection: Sunglasses with UV protection and high-SPF sunscreen.
- Personal Hygiene: Basic toiletries and toilet paper.
- Documents: Valid passport or National Identity Card (DNI) in physical form.
- Cash: It is recommended to carry at least 400 Bs. (Bolivianos) per person to cover expenses not included, such as: park entrance fees (Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve and Incahuasi Island), use of restrooms, access to hot springs, and purchase of handicrafts.
