BIRD WATCHING IN HUACARPAY LAKE CUSCO HALF DAY

Cusco Bird Watching Tour let you enjoy this great half day sharing the nature and all the bird diversity in Cusco Peru with our expert ecological tour guide.

ITINERARY

5:30 a.m. We begin the day with a pick-up from your hotel in Cusco. If you prefer to get up a little earlier, we can adjust the departure time to suit your needs.
6:00 a.m. After the first 30-minute drive, we arrive at Huacarpay Lagoon, a high-altitude Andean wetland.
6:15 a.m. A covered observation cabin awaits us just a short walk away. With binoculars in hand and accompanied by our expert guide, we’ll begin tracking emblematic species such as the Andean Grebe (Rollandia rolland) skimming across the water, the Torrent Duck (Merganetta armata), and the majestic Chilean Flamingo (Phoenicopterus chilensis).
8:30 a.m. We’ll take a break for breakfast. We’ll have a boxed lunch, the perfect time to review the list of species observed and share our impressions with the guide.
9:30 a.m. We’ll move to the southwest sector of the lagoon, where the ecosystem changes, giving way to native flora. This is the favorite territory of the fastest and most dazzling birds of the Andes. With a little patience, we’ll be able to admire the brilliant Violet-eared Hummingbird (Oreonympha nobilis) and the Giant Hummingbird (Patagona gigas
12:00 p.m. Return to Cusco, arriving at your hotel around midday so you can enjoy the rest of your afternoon.

In our shared services, we will pick-up our clients from your hotel as long as it is located in the downtown.
In our shared services, at the end of the tour, we leave our clients in a place close to the Main Square, because is easier go walking instead the car for the traffic jam. If your hotel is far from the downtown, take some cash with you in order to take a taxi.
Pick-up and drop off times are referential, this will depend on the traffic that can be found in the streets or delay of the other clients, our assistant will be on time but sometimes the transport could delay a few minutes.
