A unique place at the heart of the Madre de Dios River. You will see a great variety of animal species like ronsoco, caimans, turtles, herons, cormorants and other. Finally we’ll complete our visit of the island while enjoying the sunset the most impressive moment of any day in the jungle.

ITINERARY

DAY 01: COCHA CAIMAN

We’ll arrive in Puerto Maldonado, Peru’s capital of biodiversity. Following pickup at the airport, our trip begins with a tour of the city by private bus.

We’ll continue to Capitanía, a small river port, where we’ll board a motorized boat to cross the Madre de Dios River. As the trip progresses, we’ll become immersed in the natural surroundings of the jungle while observing the ronsoco, caimans, turtles, herons, cormorants and other animal species.

We’ll arrive at the Lodge and enjoy an exquisite welcome drink. Then, we’ll settle into our bungalows and have lunch.
In the afternoon we will visit the “COCHA CAIMAN”, a small lake where you will have the possibility to admire white and black caimans, that live here thanks to the abundant fauna characterizing the lake. In the late afternoon, you will see the sunset, before to return to the lodge to end the day with a pleasant dinner.

DAY 02

Breakfast and transfer to Puerto Maldonado’s airport.

NOTES:

CHECK-IN / RECEPTION TIMES AT THE AIRPORT

Passenger reception at the airport
It is recommended to purchase flight tickets between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. to avoid delays and inconveniences with arrival no later than 1 pm.
The departure from Puerto Maldonado to the lodge is by canoe starting at 1:30 p.m. The trip is a 2-hour trip along the Madre de Dios River (30 km). Scheduled times are fixed and unique (Transfers outside of scheduled hours incur an extra charge).

CHECK-OUT TIME

Departure from the Lodge is at 7:00 am. It takes 2 hours on the Madre de Dios River to reach the city of Puerto Maldonado.
Therefore, it is recommended that your departure flight be after 11:00 am.

LUGGAGE OR LARGE SUITCASES:
For your convenience, passengers should only bring one small suitcase. Large suitcases are not permitted at the Lodge, given the lack of luggage storage and the very hot weather conditions. Passengers may leave large suitcases at our offices in Puerto Maldonado.
