RIDING TOUR IN CUSCO – MARAS AND MORAY

Riding by horseback on the mountains of the Sacred Valley is an unforgettable experience, with a stunning view of the Vilcanota Andean mountains range and enjoying the a peek of the these great areas, as well as the glaciers that are the perpetual protectors of the Andes, here you will see the sites of MORAY and MARAS, the salt pools are coming from ancient times, even before the tawantinsuyo Empire.

ITINERARY

DAY 1

We pick up our clients from their hotels in Cusco or the Sacred Valley and head to the town of Maras, where we’ll find our horses and the horseman. After a brief introduction, we’ll begin our horseback ride towards Moray, passing through small villages and potato fields. Our visit to Moray will be from the horseback trail (panoramic view). This site was used for genetically modifying high Andean crops. Afterwards, we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch with a breathtaking view of the Sacred Valley. Then we’ll visit the Maras salt mines, which are still cultivated and used by the local people. In the afternoon, we’ll return to Cusco, arriving around 5:00 PM.
