ITINERARY

Day 1: Cusco

Arrive to Cusco in the morning (depends of the fligth) Transfer from the airport to the hotel Accommodation
Afternoon City tour Cusco: Catedral, Qorikancha and 4 ruinas (Tambomachay, Puka Pukara, Q’enqo y Sacsayhuamán)

Day 2: Cusco – Machu Picchu

After breakfast transfer to train station of Ollantaytambo, to take the train to Machu Picchu Visit of the fourth wonder of the world Machu Picchu: guided tour by 2 hours. After that we can a Free time to visit the site by ourselves, Return by Train to Ollantaytambo or Cusco

Day 3: Cusco – San Pedro

We will pick you up at 5:00 am long the way We visit the interesting tombs of Ninamarca, commonly known as “Chullpas”. We continue to Paucartambo after a small stop at the town we will continue to San Pedro where we can have our overnight, nigth option walk to see come insects and nightlife in the jungle
Overnight at our lodge.

Day 4: Cloud Forest – Hummingbird Lodge

We start the day searching for the colorful Cock-of-the-Rock, Peru’s national bird, in its natural habitat. We descend through the cloud forest to reach the Alto Madre de Dios River, where we begin our cruise to the Hummingbird Lodge. The afternoon is free for gentle family walks.

An option for the more adventurous: canoeing on calm rivers (level I-II), ideal for group activities.

Day 5: Towards the Manu Reserved Zone – Lake Salvador

We sail through the heart of Manu National Park, one of the most protected areas on the planet. We’ll observe birds, monkeys, turtles, and, with luck, caimans or felines from the boat. We arrive at the camp next to Lake Salvador, surrounded by pristine rainforest.

Day 6: Pure Nature – Lake Salvador and Otorongo Lake

We explore Lake Salvador by catamaran, searching for giant otters, exotic birds, and unique vegetation. Optional visit to a Matsiguenka native community to learn about their culture. We’ll also climb an observation tower and take a night hike to look for frogs, insects, and other jungle sights.

Day 7: Heading to Dorado Lodge

We enjoy one last hike in the area and then cruise down the Manu River, keeping an eye out for animals on the banks. We arrive at Dorado Lodge, perfect for resting and enjoying a quiet night surrounded by nature.

Day 8: Hot Springs and Erika Reserve

We visit the Shintuya Hot Springs to relax with the family. We then continue to the Erika Private Reserve, where we will hike to observe birds and monkeys. In the afternoon, we explore Lake Machuwasi by catamaran: ideal for seeing prehistoric birds like the hoatzin. Optional night hike.

Day 9: Parrot Clay Lick – Return to Cusco

Very early in the morning, we visit a clay lick, where different species of parrots gather to feed on mineral salts. We return by boat and then by road to Cusco. We make a special stop at the Pico de Hoz Lookout to observe hummingbirds and other animals. We arrive in the afternoon.

Day 10: Cusco – Lima
