Down Hill In Coroico Bolivia

Bolivia may be one of the poorest countries in South America but its cultural wealth, the mind-blowing Andean landscapes, and the remnants of mysterious ancient civilizations make it the richest and most exciting destination for adventurous and independent travelers.

Itinerary

Total time required: 13 hours (return to La Paz), or 7 hours (stay overnight in Coroico).

Approximate riding time: 5 hours.

Approximate downhill 90%. (One section contains a few small uphills)

We pick up our passengers from their hotels in La Paz, downtown, and we’ll travel to the High Pass: 4,680 meters above sea level, where we’ll have really nice scenery with incredible highlands landscapes, and after a safety chat, our guides will give you the mountain biking downhill equipment, then we’ll begin to go down this small trail we’ll have as well to see the local flora and fauna, we’ll pass the local communities and maybe stop to do some pictures with the local people doing their daily activities.., going down, we’ll feel that the temperature and the nature will change as well.

We’ll have a stop, in order to have a small rest, our guides will check our bicycle status, tires, chains, seats, etc., we’ll have time to have a drink, and our guides again will give you a chat regarding the area and in the next part of the road slowly we are entering in the amazon forest, the next part will be the hardest one in all the road, we continue with a big cliff on our left side, each time will be more warm and wet in a nice scenery.

At the end of the downhill we’ll arrive at Yolosa(1000 meters above sea level), in this small town, we can buy some cold drinks and we can take a rest, after that, we’ll go to Coroico, which is a town up the hills (is a 20 minutes ride approximately, 400 meters higher than Yolosa, is still a warm jungle place…, there, we’ll have lunch and rest, after it, in the afternoon, we’ll go back to La Paz.

Optional:  You can stay one more night in Coroico instead of going back to La Paz, if this happens, we can leave your personal luggage in your Coroico’s hotel. This is a really used option for our clients, then they can go back to La Paz on the next day, or continue down to the Amazon Jungle to Rurrenabaque and the Madidi Park.
