Via ferrata it is the name used to describe the roads found in the high of Alps, where fixed cables are used for the protection and iron stairways to go up difficult (Another name is Klettersteig) sections. Originally, the roads ferrata were built in Italian Dolomites to allow the movements of the troops during First World War. When the war concluded, these protected roads passed at the hands of mountain guides.
A road ferrata is a route type to climb a mountain that with a permanently installed system of security, it offers to people without any type of experience in escalade and using a minimum of team; the opportunity to move through mountainous spectacular scenarios.
Around 09:00 we will pick you up from your hotel it takes 01 Hr. drive from Cusco in the Sacred Valley betweenOllataytambo and Umbamba. We arrived, met our guides and received our safety instructions. The 1st leg of the trip you climb about 200 meters up using a ladder like system.
There are some parts where the steps are far apart from each other and you have to go sideways across the mountain. Once you get up there you have a cable line to cross! Don't look down
Then you climb another 100 meters where you then rappel down the side of the mountain for about 100 meters. After that, it's a 20 minute walk down a trail to the bottom. Also we can enjoy a nice lunch in the top of the wall it has a great view from the Sacred Valley , by the afternoon we will come back to Cusco around 01:00 or 02:00 pm.
