1D Humantay Lagoon Trek, Salkantay

This trek is the perfect combination of natural and cultural beauty. We’ll enjoy the ecosystem and magnificent views of the Salkantay peak, located 6,264 meters above sea level and considered one of the most iconic mountains in the Vicalbamba mountain range. This trek transports us back to the time of the Incas and allows us to experience the spirit of mountains like Tucarhuay and Humantay.

Cusco – Mollepata – Soraypampa – Humantay – Cusco

We pick up our passengers around 5:30 a.m. and head to Mollepata, located at approximately 3000 meters above sea level. We will make a short stop and continue to the camp in Soraypampa, located at approximately 3900 meters above sea level. From this point, we will begin the hike through an impressive and spectacular valley, surrounded by snow-capped mountains such as Humantay and Salkantay. On the tour, we’ll come across Humantay Lagoon, where we’ll delight in its natural beauty. If you’re in good physical condition, you can continue ascending the Salkantay Pampa mountain, where you’ll have a view of the spectacular snow-capped Salkantay Mountain. After the tour, we’ll return to Soraypampa, where our vehicle will be waiting for us to return to Cusco.

For those living below 1,000 meters above sea level, we recommend arriving in Cusco at least 2-3 days beforehand to acclimatize to this tour.
On our shared services, we will pick up our clients from their hotel, provided it is located in the city center.
On our shared services, at the end of the tour, we drop our clients off near the main square. It is easier to walk back to your hotel than take the bus, as traffic is terrible. If your hotel is far from the city center, please bring extra cash to take a taxi.
Pickup and arrival times are approximate; this will depend on traffic or delays from other clients. Our assistant will arrive at your hotel on time, but sometimes the transport may be delayed a few minutes.
