ITINERARY

DAY 1: LIMA

Upon arrival at the Lima airport, an Eric Adventure representative will meet you and you will go with this person to your hotel. In the afternoon you will have the city tour in private, during the city tour you will visit:
The neighborhoods of San Isidro and Miraflores and then the tour continue with the visit of the main square of Lima, once there you will see the Cathedral and the San Francisco Catacombs, then we will return to the hotel.

DAY 2: LIMA - PARACAS

This day early in the morning departure by bus to Paracas once there we will have the Ballestas island tour, we will visit the Ballasts Island, which is a vibrant and colorful wildlife sanctuary that is filled with wild birds and mammals, including sea lions, fur seals, and endangered Humboldt penguins. During the tour you will come face-to-face with these animals in their natural habitation while you are onboard.

DAY 3: PARACAS - NASCA - AREQUIPA

In the morning we will take our bus to Nazca, once in Nazca we are going fly over the Nazca Lines, mysterious figures made on the sand, covering an area of 350 km., these figures represent different animals and plants like The Spider, Monkey, Dog, Lizard, Hummingbird, The Condor, some of these figures are 15 to 300 meters and with a depth of 30 cm. approx. Afternoon free until 21:30 hrs. At this time we will departure by bus to Arequipa.

DAY: 4 AREQUIPA

Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Morning free to relax. In the afternoon walking tour, we will visit the Santa Catalina convent, without doubt the gem of Arequipa, finally opened to the public in 1970, after 400 years of seclusion, main square, la Compañía Cloister, and the suburbs of Cayma and Yanahuara with a magnificent view of "El Misti" Volcano.
Return to our hotel.

DAY 5: AREQUIPA - COLCA CANYON

One person part of our staff will pick you up from the hotel between 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. We will go up in altitude along the way, so we will make short stops to acclimate. We will pass through the National Reserve of Aguada Blanca and Salinas, where you can see majestic vicuñas, a South American camelid which is national symbol of Peru. We will make a stop in Patapampa at 4,800 meters above sea level and we will be continuing to the town of Chivay where we have the lunch, after the lunch we will have an accomodation in the hotel.

DAY 6: AREQUIPA - PUNO

Early in the morning, we will visit to the Condor Cross, where we will witness the majestic flight of Condors, here we will appreciate the depth of this beautiful canyon which is considered one of the deepest canyons in the world an spectacular, we will return to Chivay where the bus will take us to Puno up into the Altiplano (High Flat, where you will see snowcapped peaks and local farmers looking after their herds of llamas and alpacas). Arrival to Puno and transfer to the hotel.

DAY 7: UROS - TAQUILE

One person part of the staff of our agency will pick you up from your hotel for transport to the port of Puno, where we will board a motor boat. This trip lasts about 30 minutes, after having arrived at the floating islands of Uros Then this family will explain you their way of life and customs. After taking all the necessary information we can make a small tour along the island in order to appreciate the full magnitude of the beauty of this place aboard ships made by themselves based on totora (wild plants growing in lakes and wetlands ).
This visit will take approximately 45 minutes.

Then continue the journey to the island of Taquile. Upon reaching the island of Taquile we will walk to the village 1hour. In the town of Taquile remain a time of 3 hours visiting the place watching the scenery and customs of this community Quechua. After the visit we will return to Puno lunch and 2.30 pm. 5.00 pm Arrival in Puno. and transfer to hotel.

DAY 8: SILLUSTANI TOMBS - JULIACA- CUSCO

At 8:00 am we will pick you up from your hotel to begin to ascend to the top of the city where we make a stop to have a panoramic view of the city and Lake Titicaca. After this stop we will continue to the Sillustani Pre-Incan Site. The trip takes approximately 45 minutes to reach Sillustani archaeological constructions can observe tombs of times and pre-Incas. They can also see the beautiful lagoon which surrounds Umayo this impressive complex. After the tour we will return to Puno.

In the afternoon transfer to the bus station to take the direct bus to Cusco. Arrival to Cusco and transfer to the hotel. Accommodation in Cusco.

DAY 9: CUSCO

Day for rest and have a chance to see the city and its’ magical places or visit the cathedral or the other churches in the historical part of Cusco. Also you can try the great Andean food like alpaca meat or try the guinea pig.

DAY 10: CUSCO - URUBAMBA VALLEY – HUAYLLABAMBA

Early in the morning, we’ll take our passengers at their hotels and travel by bus to the Km. 82 in the Urubamba Valley, which is the starting point of the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. The first part of the trail will be close to the Urubamba River, then we will meet the archeological site of Llactapapa (it was an important rest stop on the journey to Machu Picchu) and we finish our first walking day in Huallyabamba (3000 masl), where we camp. Included lunch and dinner.

DAY 11: HUAYLLABAMBA - WARMIWAUSCA - PACAYMAYO

After breakfast, we will begin to climb the first pass, Warmiwausca (4,200 masl) or “Dead Woman's Pass", which resembles a supine woman . Here we can enjoy a spectacular view of the valley below. At this pass we move from the dry puna (a high treeless plateau) to the tropical forest, where gnarled trees growing among low clouds. This is the habitat of orchids, Polylepis Incana trees (National Peruvian tree) and mammals like the Puma and Andean Beer. After crossing the pass, the trail drops steeply into the Pacaymayo drainage; we will camp close to the river. Probably the day 2 is the hardest and coldest day in the Inca Trail; our team of professional guide and porters will be very glad to support you during this unforgettable day.

DAY 12: PACAYMAYO - RUNKU RAKAY - SAYACMARCA – WIÑAYHUAYNA

After breakfast, we will hike up towards the ruins of Runku Rakay and traverse the pass with the same name (3,800 masl). Then, we will descend to Sayamarca, which is an important archaeological complex, also known as “inaccessible city”. Here we have lunch. This day we’ll walk down in hundreds of steps and we will spend the third and final night near the ruins of Wiñayhuayna (2700 masl), which means “Forever Young”. This nickname come from the presence of various coloured orchids near the archaeological centre, which is the most attractive during the trail, composed by a coltivation area, living area, ritual fountains area and the tower area.

DAY 13: WIÑAYHUAYNA - INTI PUNKO - MACHU PICCHU– CUSCO

We will get up very early so that we may watch the sunrise from Inti Punku (Sun Gate) and have our first breathtaking view of Machu Picchu. We will spend approximately two hours in Machu Picchu, where the guide will explain us about the different parts constituting the “Lost City of the Incas”. We also have free time to visit Machu Picchu by our own. At this point will be on the finish of the famous Inca trail to Machu Picchu. From Machu Picchu we take a bus to Aguas Calientes and in the afternoon we go (by train) from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo and from Ollantaytambo (by Van) to Cusco.

DAY 14: CUSCO - LIMA

Transfer to the airport to take the flight to Lima once in Lima transfer to the hotel to rest until the transfer to the airport to take your international flight to home.
