DAY 01: IQUITOS / AMAZONAS SINCHICUY LODGE

We look for our passengers in the airport or hotel in Iquitos to go to the center of the city, recognized as the most important river port in the Amazon, during the tour you will see the city of Iquitos and its tourist places.

We will arrive at the port where we will go to the lodge by boat. We will navigate the Amazon River, which is the largest river in the world, in safe and comfortable boats.

After approximately 45 minutes, we will reach the Amazon Sinchicuy, a native concept surrounded by tropical flora that makes home to a variety of birds and butterflies. You will be received with a natural drink made with local fruits and the rules for the sustainability of the space and how to participate in ecotourism activities will be explained, which will make your stay more welcoming

Ecocultural Circuit (Ecosystem of the Sinchicuy River Basin)

According to the weather, you will go walking or canoeing to "Nuevo Perú", where the Yagua community lives, who in 1541 were discovered by Francisco de Orellana in his first exploration of the Amazon. In this tour, you can learn about their ancestral customs, appreciate the clothing made with palm fibers and use the weapon that the Yaguas used to hunt, the "pucuna", better known as blowgun. Lunch.

The Amazon Sinchicuy stands out for its gastronomy based on products from the estuary and the fields (chacras). It consists of golden fish accompanied by cassava, beans, bananas, local sauce and local vegetables.

In the afternoon, we will do the ethnobotanical excursion, where very particular species such as the sour cane, the copaiba, the cat's claw, ´ayahuasca´ and the ´aguaje´ (known as the rope of the dead) will be appreciated. We will visit the local naturist, an expert of the Amazonian nature and its benefits to combat diseases of the body and spirit; He will teach us the use and properties of certain plants and roots.

Then, we made a tour of the riverside farm of Santa Maria de Ojeal, where you will appreciate what the inhabitants do every day: fruit orchards, extraction of sugarcane juice in an artisanal way, raising livestock, among others. You can share with the locals and contemplate their schools, churches, shops and their characteristic homes, as well as see the projects ecotourism products, which have been created for the sustainability of the population.

Night excursion

When the night comes, the guide will take us on a walking or canoe trip, where we will enter the night world of the Amazon. You will perceive the sound of the cicadas, praying mantis and infinity of insects, besides the song of the owl. We finished the evening with a delicious dinner and will provide details of the activities for the next day. Overnight (L.D.)

DAY 02: AMAZONAS SINCHICUY LODGE / OBSERVATION PINK AND GRAY DOLPHINS / FUNDO NEISER / IQUITOS

Bird watching: Between 05:00 - 06:00 hours, it is the opportune time to observe the different species of birds that can reach the community, while feeding the river or the plantations of the place. Breakfast. Fresh juices and fruit jams typical of the locality (papaya, orange, melon, cocona) are part of the hot dishes and drinks to start the day. After breakfast, we embark to the opposite end of the Amazon or as the natives say to the "huashalado". On the way, you can contemplate the fascinating river dolphins, who are a main part in legends of the Amazonian mythology. You have to have a little patience and wait for them to show up, as they are somewhat shy animals. We continue the tour to see the Wildlife Project, currently classified as a Fundo Neiser Custody Center where you can interact and observe wildlife such as monkeys, macaws, toucans, achunis, sloths and lizards. This experience teaches us to value, respect and conserve the wildlife of the Amazon.

After the visit, we return to the lodge for lunch. In relevant hours, we embark to return to the city of Iquitos, and then move to the hotel or airport.
