Peru is undoubtedly one of the most visited destinations for its culture and history, but it is also one of the countries that has the most impressive mountain biking routes in the world, with narrow singletrack and many wonderful Andean landscapes, come with us to make this mountain biking journey starting with the routes of the Sacred Valley with ascents up to 4470 m.a.s.l. and ending with a ride to Ausangate and the Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain located at 5,200 m.a.s.l. These will be extreme adventure days with exciting ascents and descents.

    Day 1: Lima

    Arrival in Lima and transfer to the hotel

    Day 2: Lima - Cusco

    Early in the morning, transfer from the hotel to the airport
    Flight Lima - Cusco
    Arrival in Cusco and transfer to the hotel
    We will have a free afternoon for a proper acclimatization and we will be able to see everything that is missing for our great adventure bicycle package.
    During the night, we will have a visit from our guide so he can give us an explanation about the whole itinerary.

    Day 3: Cusco

    This is a classic Cusco tour, a mix of dirt road and track. We will start with an asphalt from 1 to 1.5 hours approximately, all uphill to have a great idea of ​​the altitude, or if you wish we can meet at the top to make the tour in the upper part and finish in the city of Cusco. During the beginning, we will visit the archaeological site of Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Tambomachay and Puca Pucara, enjoy a delicious box lunch halfway and then continue pedaling to Yuncaypata, from here we can choose some technical and very exciting descent roads.     Day 4: Cusco - Pisaq

    We will climb a hill for our first descent to the Balcón del Diablo, here the river has cut a natural tunnel under an Inca canal. This classic tour has technical sections, Inca culture and an exciting end of eucalyptus forests. Our second descent of the day goes into the Sacred Valley of the Incas through two magnificent short sections of singletrack. This is the singletrack heaven, smooth donkeytrails and the ancient Inca roads. We stop for a picnic lunch before heading to today's destination, the town of Pisac. We hope to arrive in time for its artisan market, perfect for collecting souvenirs or photographing a typical Andean market. We will spend the night in a hotel in the town of Pisaq.     Day 5: Pisac - Lamay - Pisaq

    After breakfast we will go through the Sacred Valley to Lamay to a pass located at 4200 meters above sea level. From here we will descend to the bottom of the valley by paths and dirt roads. After lunch, we can repeat the experience or try new trails. We will return to our hotel in Pisac to spend the night. Double accommodation at the Pisac Inn hotel or similar Meals: Breakfast - Lunch

    Day 6: Pisaq - Huchuy Qosqo - Urubamba

    This day is the largest and most remote ride of the trip. We will climb driving as close to the pass and if it is not possible to reach, we will have to push our bicycles up to 4200 m along a dirt road. It will be a truly magnificent singletrack day as we follow an ancient Inca trail to the little-visited archaeological site of Huchuy Qosqo which sits on a cliff in the Sacred Valley. The best place to do cycling full of nature. We will have to take a box lunch and many spare tubes since there are many cactus along the way. Once in Huchuy Qosqo, we can take a short walk exploring the site. The last descent to the floor of the Sacred Valley takes place on a wide dirt road in Zigzaq or for those who have not had enough also a truly amazing singletrack interspersed with some fearful sections.     Day 7: Urubamba - Maras - Moray - Urubamba

    A classic bicycle tour with a route that starts at 3800 meters is a sweeter singletrack that you can imagine. The views are spectacular, large white peaks, a famous lake, local villages and a circular archaeological site called Moray. In addition of it we will visit the salt mines of Maras. This day, our goal is to finish the tour early to enjoy a delicious barbeque, relax a bit in the hotel gardens and give some maintenance to our bikes.     Day 8: Urubamba - Calca - Ollantaytambo

    This day we will continue by bicycle or in our vehicle to the town of Calca and then ascend to the Lares pass 4470 m. From here a wide Inca road descends to the depths of the Sacred Valley. Spectacular scenery, among stone paths, diversity of flora and Andean fauna and fast descents are some of the things that stand out on this incredible route. We will start with an Inca path covered with grass with small jumps over water ditches, on the route we will be able to observe Andean animals such as llamas, alpacas, vicuñas, birds, etc. After this exciting descent, our transport will wait for us in Calca to return us to our hotel in Ollantaytambo and if you feel that it has not been enough, we can return by bicycle as well.     Day 9: Ollantaytambo - Machu Picchu - Ollantaytambo

    Early in the morning we will board the train that will take us to the town of Aguas Calientes, it is approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes of travel. In Aguas calientes our transfer will be waiting for us in order to take the bus up to Machu Picchu, it is approximately 30 minutes more. In Machu Picchu, we will have a guided tour of approximately 2 hours and then an extra free time. We will take the return bus to Aguas Calientes, here we will enjoy a delicious buffet lunch and then return by train to Ollantaytambo.     Day 10: Ollantaytambo - Pumamarca - Cusco

    We will begin our ascent by bicycle or also in our vehicle. We will pass through colorful villages, here, it seems that here the time froze as they still maintain their ancestral customs from very remote times. Our goal is to have lunch near the traditional town of Huilloc, here the main activity of the inhabitants is weaving. From here we will return to Pumamarca, we can give a cultural visit to the ruins of this place and then start with the technical descent to Ollantaytambo.     Day 11: Cusco

    Free day to rest or explore the surroundings of the city During the night, we will have a new briefing for the last and best part of our trip, Ausangate on bicycles.     Day 12: Cusco - Tinki - Upis

    Our transport will arrive for us to take us to the town of Tinki, approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes of travel, it is from here that we will begin our journey to Ausangate, we will have a day with wonderful landscapes and we already started with the most difficult pedaling of our lives, since during the next 5 days we will be on routes over 4000 m. Our camp is located in Upis, here we will spend the first night. Meals: Breakfast - Lunch - Dinner

    Day 13: Upis - Ausangate Cocha

    After breakfast we will start with our adventure, we will find some points where we will have to load our bicycles, but this effort will be rewarded by the beautiful landscapes during the tour, this day we pedal 5-6 hours approximately until we reach our campsite located on the shores from the Ausangate Cocha. Meals: Breakfast - Lunch - Dinner

    Day 14: Ausangate Cocha - Surinicocha

    We continue with this great adventure in mountain bikes, this day as the others will be very demanding we will have ascents and descents, we will pass through the Warmisaya pass, located at 4985 meters above sea level. Our camp is located in Surinicocha, and close to the Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain Meals: Breakfast - Lunch - Dinner

    Day 15: Surinicocha - Mountain of Colors - Hanchipata

    This day we will leave early and in approximately 2 hours we will be in the Rainbow Mountain, we will enjoy this beautiful place and all the surrounding landscape, then we will return and continue to the town called Hanchipata, where our camp will be. Meals: Breakfast - Lunch - Dinner

    Day 16: Hanchipata - Pitumarca - Cusco

    This is the last day and the last descent, we will pass through the town of Pitumarca and we will finish in the town of Checacupe, here our transportation will be waiting for us to return to our hotel in Cusco. Meals: Breakfast - Lunch

    Day 17: Cusco - Lima
