Urubamba River Rafting Full Day


Rafting is a good option for your free remainder time in Cusco, we run this tour with all the safety procedures, appropriate equipment and professional guides…, before book your tour, it´s necessary to know: there are 2 classic places to go:

Day 1

At 8:45 AM we will pick up our clients from their Cusco hotels, and after that we'll begin our trip by bus to the Urubamba River (1 hour and 15 minutes more or less), once we arrive to the river, our guides will give you a safety chat (they will explain the equipment to you, navigation, river, rapids, etc), then, you'll get prepared with the rafting equipment, and after that, we're ready to run the river!!

We'll put the rafts on the river and we'll practice paddling with our rafting crew…, then we'll run rapids class II and III for 2 hours and 30 minutes more or less, after it; we'll arrive to the end point, once dry and dressed, we'll have lunch, then we'll begin our trip back to Cusco, arriving at 5pm more or less.

Rapids Classification:

Class I Flat water, lakes, flat river places
Class II Small Rapids with small rocks
Class III Rapids, Waves, Rocks, amazing to do rafting
Class IV Strong Rapids, Waves, really fun
Class V The hardest level that a person can run, really dangerous
Class VI Not for run!, avoid!

The rainy season is a really good time to go rafting because the river gets faster and the waves and other hydraulics are larger. The rainy season lasts from December to April.

We recommended to bring

  • Bathing suit
  • Towel
  • Sandals with Velcro (to use in the river during the rafting tour)
  • Shorts (to use over the wetsuit)
  • Hat, sun block, sun glasses with
  • Water Proof Photo Camera or Gopro

Once you’ll do the reservation, we’ll need the following data:

  • Your Cusco’s hotel address
  • Your heights(for the rafting equipment)
  • Are you vegetarians?
  • Do you have any allergies?

Others that you’ve to know:

  • The pick up time in the morning with our bus is an approximatelly time(according traffic, and group size)
  • Compulsory to be able to Swim
  • Level of the river can change according the season
  • We reserve the right to change the itinerary according our clients’ safety
  • The Video and Pictures service is an optional service that sometimes gives a photographer kayaker from our crew, normally after your tour, you’ll be able to buy it (the CD), please just pay it once you’ll have this product with you, after each trip we delete pictures and videos, so, we can’t guarantee the existence of videos and pictures for long period of time
  • Children are required to go with her/his parents, we’ve children equipment too
  • If you have special needs, please let us know in advance
